Everything about Free Spirit totally explained

» This article is about an idiom that refers to a personality trait. See Free Spirit for the Ranters or Seekers or Free Spirit for the Marvel Comics character.

Free spirit is an English idiom that refers to an individual who feels unconstrained by conventions of the time. Such people should be distinguished from libertines, who could be considered to carry that spirit to excess, or heroes, which would be viewed as a leader, perhaps in a struggle. Instead, a free spirit tends to act alone, without the connotation of moral victory, but usually with a connotation of fun.
